This classic route is a flat trail that stretches for 8 kilometres and covers the entire length of the Cancano and Fraele lakes.

The e-bike route

Before reaching the picnic area at one end of the second lake, turn left and begin the enjoyable ascent on a dirt road with a compact surface and accessible gradient through a coniferous forest.

You emerge from the vegetation with views of the Ortler group behind you and pass by the Sorgenti dell’Adda, where the Adda river rises: you have to descend into the grassland on the right to reach the exact spot indicated!

The route continues as far as Passo Alpisella in a high altitude alpine environment, amidst scree, meagre pastures and a lovely little lake.

The dirt road that continues downhill to Livigno is steeper and more pebbly; the ascent to the pass can thus also be done from Livigno with a greater elevation gain and more effort.
